PACKING YOUR GOODS
One of the most overlooked parts of a removal. The better you are packed, the easier and prepared the move for yourself and the removalist. Allow yourself plenty of time to pack. Or you can get our professional packers to do this for you. Don’t overpack boxes or make them too heavy. It slows down the move.
ALL ITEMS EMPTIED
Items such as wardrobes, drawers, filling cabinets, freezers and all other storages should be emptied. It’s safer all around.
Items that need dismantling such as beds, cots, cupboards etc. need to be taken apart for safety and so they can be moved properly. We can do the dismantling for you, or you can do it yourself to save a bit of time.
Make sure when we arrive that all your packing in complete. It’s so much easier for our friendly team of removalists to come in and start loading up the truck. Keep boxes & goods out of walkways to save time and double handling.
LABEL ALL BOXES CLEARLY
Make sure that all boxes are labelled clearly with their contents and what room you would like them to go into at the new property. You can take it a step further by using colour coding to organise where boxes will go in your new home.
FIRST NIGHT IN YOUR NEW PLACE
Don’t forget to plan for the first night in your new home. Essential moving tip is to plan for the first night that you’ll spend in your new home.
- Set aside a box or boxes to hold everything you will need for the first 24 hours after your move. This can include utensils for cooking, toiletries, a change of clothing and bedding so that you can sleep comfortably. Label clearly so our team can put to one side for you.
- Make the beds first thing, so matter what time of day you finish unpacking, your bed is ready for your first night in your new place.
Do not water a few days before the move.
