How do you charge for a move?
Experience has taught me that the best way to charge is on an hourly rate (this is broken down into 15 minute blocks). Mon-Fri we charge $180 per hour and on Sat we change $198 per hour. For an accurate quote – you can call me on T:1300 090 780 and M:0402 744 009.
Do you have a packing and unpacking service?
Yes. We have profession packers available. This has become more common in the last 10 years as peoples’ lives are busier.
How much notice do you require for bookings?
In general 2 weeks. We work on a first come, first serve policy. When we are fully booked, we are fully booked!
Do you supply packing materials, boxes etc?
Yes. We supply all the packing materials you need. We have two ranges of boxes, butcher’s paper et. For a price list, please contact us (link to contact page).
Do you have insurance?
Big Chief Removals have built our reputation on our highly trained, polite staff who take the utmost care with all of your goods.
Moving your furniture puts it in a high risk situation an although we take every step to protect your goods, accidents occasionally occur. Although we are unable to accept responsibility for damage to your goods, we assure you that we do everything we an to prevent this from happening.
Big Chief Removals has the following insurances:
- public liability ($20,000,000)
- Goods in Transit ($250,000 per truck)
- Fleet Motor Insurance – Fully covered
- Workers’ Compensation – Fully covered
If you would like the extra peace of mind you can obtain a quote for “Marine Transit Insurance” from our broker. This has to be provided by an insurance broker because every case is different.
Are there any hidden charges?
The only extra charge we have is a 1% charge for the use of credit cards. Other than that there are no hidden changes. We have tried to keep the whole process as simple as possible.
